What signals are issued?

The TriadTiming system generates Long, Short, and MMF signals.

Long signals are issued when the overall US market is predicted to go up.
Short signals are issued when the overall US market is predicted to go down.
MMF signals are issued when the system analysis is not distinct enough to predict the market direction.

What vehicles can I trade?

Many trading vehicles may be used.  Some common ones are:

  1. Rydex mutual funds (IRA eligible)
  2. ProFunds mutual funds (IRA eligible)
  3. ETFs (e.g. QQQQ, SPY, DIA, IWM)
  4. Options
  5. Futures
  6. 401k accounts (provided that at least one U.S. equity fund is available as well as one money market or cash fund)
  7. Individual stocks (the TriadTiming signals can be used to determine overall market direction and therefore optimized entry or exit points)

Links to Rydex, ProFunds, and two online discount brokers (Interactive Brokers and Scottrade) are included on the Internet Links page.

Are your results verified?

Yes.  TriadTiming signed up with TimerTrac, an independent signal tracking company, in June of 2006.

How do I get your signals?

The current signal is always available through the secure login section of this website.  E-mails alerting subscribers to new trades are delivered by 6AM EST (3 1/2 hours prior to market opening).  The trade e-mails contain signal direction and each e-mail states precisely what trades to make.

An example long e-mail:

Signal date 10/21/2005: 100% Long
Trade date 10/24/2005

What this means:

If you are trading Rydex: Close out all open positions and move 100% of your account into the Rydex Velocity 100

If you are trading an ETF (e.g. QQQQ): Close out all short positions and move 100% of your account into the ETF

If you are trading ProFunds: Close out all open positions and move 100% of your account into the UltraOTC ProFund

If you are trading mutual funds (e.g. in a 401k): Close out all money market positions and move 100% of your account into an equity mutual fund

An example short e-mail:

Signal date 1/09/2006: 100% Short
Trade date 1/10/2006

What this means:

If you are trading Rydex: Close out all open positions and move 100% of your account into the Rydex Venture

If you are trading an ETF (e.g. QQQQ): Close out all short positions and move 100% of your account into short positions in the ETF

If you are trading ProFunds: Close out all open positions and move 100% of your account into the UltraShort OTC ProFund

If you are trading mutual funds (e.g. in a 401k): Close out all open positions and move 100% of your account into a money market fund

How often are new signals generated?

On average, the long-term TriadTiming system issues about 1-10 signals a year.  Some signals only last a day while others last for months. The short-term TriadTiming system issues about 50-100 signals a year.

Should I trade every signal?

To follow the system all signals should be acted on.  Doing so removes much of the emotional bias and resulting problems that traders face while also generating consistent market beating returns. It is up to the investor whether to follow the long-term Triad system, the short-term Triad system or a combination of both. The short-term system is well suited for active traders while the long-term system takes more of an investment approach.

How has the system performed?

For a breakdown of returns for various trading strategies please view the returns page.

If you wish to cancel your subscription at any time please send an e-mail to our sales department.  Remember that your first month is free and if you cancel before the end of that month you will not be charged anything.

What exactly is the TriadTiming system?

The TriadTiming system is a mechanical trading system that has been developed over the last 10 years.  The sytem generates long or short recommendations in response to various technical and fundamental conditions.

The details of the system are proprietary but as the name suggests, the TriadTiming trading system hinges on 3 aspects that govern the majority of market movements:

  • Fundamentals including economic conditions, world environment, and federal monetary policies among others.
  • Technicals including overbought/oversold levels, trends, and volume action.
  • Contrarian approaches. In general, when the masses do one thing it is usually time to go the other way.
